By far the heaviest piece of equipment to take on location - the Canon HJ40 Zoom Lens. This is a 400mm, optically-stabilised zoom lens, with servo-zoom, servo-focus and a 2x doubler, enabling a zoom length of 800mm. You can basically zoom in to the moon and see a full-screen image detailing all the visible craters. Bring a strong camera assistant. At one point we walked for an hour and a half along sandy tracks to get to a wild-life hide. This lens in its flightcase proved to be our rite of passage.
